Music of Africa Composition, Research and Documentation is set up to promote African music initiatives in all the vital areas, notably, composition, research, documentation, and performance. Published by Agidimo Global Scores Limited (headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria), MACREAD seeks to support the works of composers, researchers and performers in ways that draw attention to individual creativity and resourcefulness and the continent’s diverse musical traditions.
To this end, MACREAD’s core objectives include the promotion of Africanist music research through seminars, conferences and publication; and the dissemination of musical compositions through performance and publication.
